Blackberry and apple hedgerow crumble bars

Part biscuit, part tart and part crumble, these hedgerow bars will be a firm favourite every autumn

Ingredients


For the base and crumble
  • 100 g light brown sugar
  • 150 g salted butter, melted
  • 250 g plain flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 30 g hazelnuts, roughly chopped
For the filling
  • 225 g blackberries
  • 150 g apple, peeled, cored and diced
  • 100 g caster sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • zest of 1 lemon and the juice of ½ lemon
