Italian meatballs

1. To make the sauce, heat a little oil in a saucepan and fry the onion and garlic for
   2-3 minutes. Add the rest of the sauce ingredients and bring to the boil, then turn down and simmer for
   5 minutes.
2. Once cooked, blitz with a hand-held blender.
3. In a mixing bowl, combine the beef, onion and seasoning together with your hands and make as smooth as possible.
4. Take a dessertspoonful of mixture and form into balls and set aside. The mixture should make about 16 meatballs.
5. Put the spaghetti on to boil.
6. Heat about ½" of oil in the bottom of a frying pan. When the oil makes the meatballs sizzle (test one), add the meatballs to the pan. As they begin to brown, turn them so all sides become browned. Once cooked take from the pan and drain on some kitchen paper.
7. Drain the spaghetti.
8. Add the meatballs and sauce to the spaghetti and mix. Garnish with basil and serve.
