Put the
water
on to boil ready for the vegetables. Simmer the
potatoes
and
carrots
for
10-15
minutes
or until tender. After
10
minutes
, put the
beans
into the same pan.
Heat a little oil in a small saucepan and fry the
onion
until they begin to brown.
Add the
ginger
,
cumin
and
cinnamon
and fry for
30
seconds
.
Add the
flour
and stir well. Cook for
30
seconds
.
Add the rest of the sauce ingredients and bring to the boil. Simmer for
2
minutes
. Taste and season appropriately.
While the vegetables are cooking, heat a little oil in a frying pan. Add the
pork
steaks. Cook on a high heat for
2
minutes
each side. Turn down the heat, put a lid on the pan and cook for a further
3-4
minutes
each side. Pork steaks should not be 'bloody' but can still look quite pink inside.
Drain the vegetables and serve with the steaks and the sauce.
